As planned, we made an early departure. It wasn't the 7:00 a.m. departure Linda mentioned last night, but it was 8:30, and that's pretty darn early for us. :)
It rained all night, and it was still raining while I was disconnecting utilities. But heavier rain was on the way, and we wanted to get the heck out of there.
We drove in the rain all the way through Lexington and part of the way to Cincinnati. Long before getting into Ohio, we took the loop highway into Indiana and picked up Indiana Highway 1.
After doing most of our recent traveling on interstates, it was very nice being on a two-lane backroad - much more our style.
We arrived at the Franklin County Park just south of Brookville around noon. We had completed our 190-mile trip without incident. Of course, we didn't have reservations and it was another two hours before check-out. The office wasn't open, but some park employees helped us out and found us a site.
It's $21 a night for a water & electric site, and our site (#116) has 50-amps.
We got settled in, and I went to fuel up the truck. Later, Linda went to the laundry in town and she picked up a few items at the IGA grocery.
After she got back, we did our exercises, sent out some emails, had dinner, and called it a night. Hopefully, the late-night dirt drag racing won't keep us awake too long. :)
Tomorrow, we'll complete our drive to Bremen, Indiana where we'll stay the night and be ready for our appointment with the painting company on Monday.
It was a boring travel day .... but we were quite okay with that. :)
