Wow, it got windy in Rawlins. We were sort of content in our RV spot, but the wind was driving us crazy. Linda checked the weather and found our next spot was going to be less windy so, around 10:00, we decided to go ahead and leave.
We made a couple of phone calls to area RV parks in Lander, WY about 125 miles northeast. Ultimately, we chose Pioneer RV Park.
By 11:00, we were ready to pull out. With hugs we said our "see ya laters" to Paul & Mary.
On the way out, we stopped at the office and filled up one of our propane cylinders as we'll likely be doing some cold-weather boondocking up by Grand Teton National Park and going through a lot of propane.
Today's drive was pretty simple. We simply got on U.S. Hwy 287 in Rawlins and headed northeast until we got to the southern outskirts of Lander where we pulled into the Pioneer RV Park which is sandwiched between a little industrial park and the Lander Golf Club.
We met the owner, Phyllis, who was extremely sweet. She said that her husband's health isn't so great, so they are considering accepting weekly and monthly renters only. She assigned us a site and we pulled in.
The RV park has 22 pull-through, full hook-up sites with 50-amp electric. The sites are your typical side-by-side spots, but they are level and the utilities are good.
Motorhomes have a full-on view of the golf course, and we are angled just enough so that the rolling green hills are in our view as well.
We did our usual set-up chores and spent the afternoon relaxing in our recliners. I worked on the 2014 Spring Rally pages and got the registration for that open - finally. :)
Linda went to the grocery and made a crockpot of chili.
Other than that, not much to tell. We plan on visiting Sinks Canyon State Park tomorrow, and then we'll move on to Grand Teton either Saturday or Sunday.
Have a great day. :)
